Let Martha Stewart Plan Your Wedding

2009-08-11 By Linda Tatten

Yes you can have a Martha Stewart Wedding at Sandals and Beaches…this is a Good Thing!

Sandals has always been a leader in destination weddings, at their 12 Sandals and four Beaches Resorts in the Caribbean, and they continue to raise the bar.

Sandals and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia are now joining to officially incorporate and will be offering five themed wedding packages for that special day.  Even Sandals basic, and free, wedding will be a Martha Stewart Wedding, couples can select add-ons for an additional cost.

Martha Stewart has already visited Sandals to do an inspection and has a team in place to make it all happen…this is a good thing!

I was recently at Sandals for the Travel Counsellors Conference and the Sandals’ Certification Course – I did pass the course!  While there I saw several weddings, one at Sandals and one at Beaches, I especailly liked the one at night with the tables on the sand and candles creating a special romantic feel.

A destination wedding, Imagine the Possibilities…

Love is Big Business

2009-06-19 By Linda Tatten

Destination Weddings & Honeymoons

Love is a big business! Honeymoons are a $12 billion a year business and Destination Weddings $10 billion plus – yes I said billion.

A Destination Wedding can cost less then a traditional wedding, with complementary wedding planning and special prices for the wedding party.

I thought I would share a few possibilities for that special day.

Las Vegas

The wedding industry in Las Vegas is a $900 million industry, with a lot more to offer then the Britney Spears middle of the night wedding chapel. Also, you don’t have to have Elvis marry you or go to the Drive-Up chapel – unless you want to!  Some of the deluxe hotels, like Wynn, have their own chapel and offer elegant, traditional weddings and lovely areas for your reception.

Other options:  A Grand Canyon wedding with reception back in Vegas; the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel or a Venice cannal at the Venetian Hotel. If your  preference is a more natural setting head for Valley of Fire, with stunning red sandstone.

Hotel Rates have never been so low.  You can stay at a deluxe hotel for what you would have paid for a mid range hotel in the past. There are all kinds of special prices and offers making this cost effective for family and friends sharing your special day.

Princess Cruises

If you prefer the open seas, Princess Cruises could be for you, with their Weddings at Sea Program . Their ships have a formal wedding chapel and the captain can preform a legal marriage. Princess also has Renewal of Vows Packages and both can be shared with family and friend back home by web cam.

If it’s your wedding, honeymoon or renewal of vows, take time to Imagine the Possibilities…

HONEYMOON & WEDDING NEWS

2005-09-19 By Linda Tatten

Are you planning a wedding? A bachelor or bachelorette party? More and more wedding parties are on the move. I just returned from Las Vegas, where I saw both bachelor and bachelorette parties out celebrating, I would say more but…what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! I also saw, several wedding parties at the Venetian Hotel, where they were taking advantage of the Gondola rides at St Marks Square – part of the Venetian Hotel complex. They were then off to one of the many award winning restaurants now in LasVegas.

Have you thought about a Destination Wedding?
A recent survey by Bridal Guide magazine found that more modern day brides and grooms are foregoing tradition in favor of destination weddings. Here are some other interesting facts.

•25% of today’s engaged couples plan to have a destination wedding – that’s more than 500,000 weddings per year.

•Number of quests that attend destination weddings has nearly doubled since 1999, up to 54 from 29.

•One-third of couples are also planning destination bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Do you know the most popular honeymoon destination? The following list is from Modern Bride Magazine.

1. Hawaii
2. Jamaica
3. Mexico
4. Tahiti
5. St Lucia
6. Italy
7. U.S. Virgin Islands
8. Aruba
9. Las Vegas
10. Bermuda

Free Wedding with Sandals’ WeddingMoon
Sandals Resorts have always been popular with honeymooners, and now are becoming known for their WeddingMoon packages. The WeddingMoon is a free ceremony when a couple stays 5 nights or more. The couple can upgrade the standard package from a wedding collection designed by Preston Bailey, celebrity wedding planner. Mr Bailey has worked for Oprah Winfrey, Catherine Zeta Jones and Donald Trump.

Manny hotels are offering special wedding packages…imagine getting married on a white sand beach.
