Women’s Getaway Returns

Monday, March 4th, 2013

Travel by Tatten Women’s Getaways – has returned from their Caribbean adventure after  a week sailing the Windward Islands.

The Royal Clipper

Our adventure started in Barbados where we boarded the beautiful 42-sail Royal Clipper - the largest full-rigged sailing ship in the world!  We sailed in casual luxury on this spacious ship accommodating only 227 guests, with stops at some of the smaller ports and secluded beaches for a swim.

You really need to experience first hand the unfurling of the sails – I found it emotional and heard one passenger say “what a magical moment” and another “this is magic” as the on-deck speakers play Vangelis’s Conquest of Paradise the 42 sails are unfurled – we were a striking sight!

A fun day was when we sailed beside and raced the Star Clipper, they were doing the Grenadine Islands itinerary.  There are three ships owned by Star Clippers sailing the world.

Did I like the cruise – I have days when I sit at my desk and dream of my deck chair on a quite uncrowded deck surrounded by beautiful blue water and wonderful islands as the trade winds blow and the sun sets.

Did the group like the cruise – on the second day they were asking me what was the date of next years cruise.

 And yes…there was chocolate!

The Largest Full-Rigged Sailing Ship in the World!

With her complement of 42 sails, Royal Clipper is a splendid sight. For connoisseurs of sail cruising, the 439-foot Royal Clipper offers the ultimate sea-going experience, balancing the grandeur, adventure and tradition of sailing.  She carries just 227 guests in luxurious style.  A full 19,000 square feet of open deck and three swimming pools.

Enjoy a convenient marina platform from the stern for watersports, or climb the mast(with safty harness provided) to one of the passenger  ”crow” nests.  There is a spa and health club with underwater glass portholes.

Client Testimoial

When I travel I am always a bundle of nerves about getting there, being on time, what did I forget, getting back and all the things that can make travel not so much fun.

When Linda’s trips come out I always check my calendar and if I can make it, I will go.

She takes care of everything and for once, I can relax and not worry about anything.  That is what travel is supposed to be.

Her women’s groups travels are different, exciting and a great value for what you get.  And there is always chocolate!

Emily K Greenwood, EKG Networking, Inc.

Having been both an attendee and a facilitator on many of Travel by Tatten’s Women Only Getaways, I can tell you that I am always impressed with the level of care and customer service that Linda gives to her clients.  Linda carefully researches her destinations, making sure they are ideal for her customers.  I have felt completely comfortable going along on these trips, as Linda is such a good host, and she makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable.

There is a special bond that happens on Women’s Only trips that can last a lifetime.  Some of my happiest memories are of the time I spent with Linda and the other attendees on our Women’s Weekend in New Hampshire back in 2004.  Many of my friends and clients attended these weekends, and they still rave about the camaraderie and fun!  Not to mention the chocolate!

Hawaii Tourism HTJ

SEPTEMBER 5 – 14, 2012

We will visit two beautiful islands – Maui and Kauai.

For Itinerary –  hawaii june2012

Hawaii is not that special, it’s nice but I wouldn’t want to live here…this is what I thought many years ago after my first week of vacation.  I was going from tourist attraction to tourist attraction seeing beautiful places but I was missing something.  On the second week of my vacation I stopped being a tourist, I stopped rushing around, and I took time to feel the spirit of Hawaii and I fell in love with the Islands; I can my notice at work, left home and moved to Hawaii for an unforgettable year…and the start of my life of travel!

I have designed this trip with time to explore, to relax and to feel the real Hawaii.  Many tours go from island to island with a lot of time spent at airports and hotel check-ins.  We will be exploring two of the most beautiful islands, with time for sight seeing and time to walk on the beach and watch the sunset.  Please join me, I would love to show you  the beauty of these two special islands.

Note – my groups are small – we can go into places and restaurants not open to large buses with 48 or 55 passengers.

GolfGurls Getaway – Golf in Paradise

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Play golf at two beautiful Hawaiian courses – The Challenge at Manele and The Experience at Koele.

Golfgurls.com in partnership with Travel by Tatten and the Four Seasons Resort of Lana’i at Manele Bay, is offering a very exclusive women-only golf travel adventure.  Dates of Travel: April 22 – 28, 2012

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort last year and I’m so looking forward to returning this April.  Bill Gates choose this resort and specifically The Challenge at Manele as the site of his wedding – a spectacular view over looking the ocean!

The number of golfers is limited, currently there are seven golf spots still available.  If you have a friend who is not a golfer but you would like to have join you at the Four Season, they are most welcomed.

The Challenge at Manele - designed by Jack Nicklaus.

The Experience at Koele - designed by Greg Norman and Ted Robinson

The Four Seasons Resort Lana’i at Manele Bay - is set above a crescent beach and a protected marine preserve.  Go to the beach or stay by the pool after your round of golf.  The staff at the resort do all possible to make you feel pampered, offering ice water, Evian spritzers, chilled towels and other amenities.  Or a visit to the spa may be what you need after a day on the course.  Imagine all the possibilities…
